The Watermark, Grand Cayman
A Richmond Connection Across the Caribbean
After our sister company Fashionizer Spa successfully created bespoke uniforms for Meraki Wellness, The luxury spa within this Grand Cayman condominium development. Fashionizer was recommended as the preferred partner for the broader uniform project. The Watermark is a masterpiece of resort-style living featuring 12 pools, private beachfront cabanas, and world-class amenities that rival the finest hotels. An interesting coincidence emerged when we discovered that the General Manager of this Caribbean property was originally from Richmond our local area. Building on these shared connections and trust the distance between our UK studio and the Cayman Islands seemed very small and made collaboration seamless.
Rethinking Housekeeping Uniforms for Tropical Environment
The design process started with envisioning uniforms that would work in the sunny Caribbean environment. The design needed to harmonize with The Watermark's sunny tropical but sophisticated environment and retain its fresh look throughout the day in the intense Caribbean climate.
Initially a light colour palette of cream and wheat that feels both luxurious and subtle was chosen for the project. Cream tunics feature wheat-coloured details around the neckline with elegant gold embroidery and are paired with matching wheat trousers. The result is an ensemble that feels more like resort wear than traditional hotel uniforms. The garments were produced in our signature CPF fabric—a blend of organic cotton with 2% Lycra—giving the housekeeping team freedom to move comfortably while staying cool in the humid island climate.
Where Luxury Meets Practicality
Details that matter most are often that guests never see but staff experience daily. Our fabrics handle demanding 60°C wash cycles needed for necessary cleanliness standards, while the light colours help staff stay cool during their shifts. This project proved how thoughtful design can serve both the housekeeping staff wearing the uniforms and the environment they work in. Through video calls and fabric samples sent across oceans, we demonstrated that effective collaboration has no borders—creating uniforms that enhance the daily experience of The Watermark's staff and the guests they serve.
"All staff have been allocated uniforms and we have received wonderful feedback so far"
